The Bookshelf Tag

I was watching this video from Books With Emily Fox the other night and I thought it looked fun. Plus it made me count the number of books I own which I’ve been meaning to do for ages.

1/ How many bookshelves do you have?

Four. Two hanging from the walls that my dad built and two from Argos.

2/ How many books are on your bookshelves? Or how many books you think you have?

I actually went and counted them all. I currently have 620 books.

3/ How do you organize your books?

By genre. I have all of my history books together, all of my sci-fi and fantasy together and my classics together.

4/ What is the oldest book on your bookshelf?

I have a copy of The History of the Durham Miners’ Association by John Wilson which was published in 1907.

5/ What is the newest book on your bookshelf?

Find Me by André Aciman

6/ What is the longest book on your bookshelf?

Les Misérables by Victor Hugo. Didn’t even have to think about that one.

7/ What is the shortest book on your bookshelf?

It is a summary of the Lady Chatterly obscenity trial and it is 55 pages long.

8/ What is the predominant genre on your bookshelf?

Fantasy

9/ Have you done a bookshelf tour?

No, because that would be time consuming and boring.

10/ Go on a random number generator and talk about the book that corresponds with that number.

*Puts on dart commentator voice* 180.

The Dragon Keeper by Robin Hobb. The first book in The Rainwild Chroncles, my least favourite of Hobb’s Elderling series. It’s about a bunch of misfit Rainwilders and a bunch of misfit dragons trying to find a place where they’ll be welcome.

Basically.

11/ Do you have fan merch or any other decorations on your bookshelf?

I have a load of junk on my bookshelves. Just look at the picture below.

12/ Show us your bookshelf!

13/ Tag someone.

If you want to do this, then feel free.
