Whenever I see the plot of a historical fantasy novel I think it sounds so cool and then I read it and I inevitably find myself incredibly disappointed. You would think that I would eventually learn and just stop reading them but I persist in the hope that one day this genre will click for me.
I’m still waiting.
Also, as a note, I don’t consider actual historical events to count as spoilers so if you do then probably just best not to read this review because I do mention them.
