Every year, I like to set myself a reading challenge. Usually nothing to big, last year it was to end the year with an average page count over over 500 (which I did at 501 pages according to Goodreads).
This year’s challenge is to read Persuasion in both English and French. I am going to admit, I didn’t really ever have an interest in reading Persuasion because I wasn’t overly fond of Pride and Prejudice but my friend bought me a French copy for Christmas so I thought why not give it a go?
to make it a challenge, I’m going to read at least a chapter a week, starting with the French version and then reading it in English to see how good or bad my translation skills are. Let’s see how it goes.
